Synthesis and Characterization of Phenyl/4-pyridyl meso Substituted Porphyrins

The complete series of the six phenyl/4-pyridyl mego substituted porphyrins were synthesized and characterized by analysis. The PMR spectra were consistent with the assigned struc­tural representations. The new compounds, and othep that can be made by similar procedures, will be useful both for kinetic and energy related surfactant studies.read more

Glucotropaeolin was isolated and identified from the roots of Salvadora Persica L.Benzyl isothiocyanate was separated by the enzymatic hydrolysis of the g1.ucosinolate. Benzyl nitrile was also detected in the hydrolysate. The presence of the latter compound further substantiates the possible formation of the isothiocyanate, thiocyanate or/and the nitrile derivatives from the thiazarine intermediate.read more

The Composition and Stability of Co(ll), Ni(TI) and Cu(TI)-o-Carboxyphenyl Azodiethylrnalonate Complexes by pH metric Method in Mixed Solvents

8-carboxyphenyl azodiethylmalonate was studied pH-metricallY in different aqueous organic solvents. The pK1&pK2 were calculated to be 4.81 & 10.97,5.60 & 12.21 and 5.15 & 11.57 in 50% and 80% aqueous ethanol and 50% aqueous dioxan respectivily. The stability constants of Co(ll), Ni(II) and Cu(II) were also calculated in the same solvents. It was found that copper foms 1:2 complex in all mixed solvents, while nickel and cobalt fom 1: 1 complexes. There is a good relation between pK;S and dielectric constant of solvents. The pK&pK of ligand and complexes in water can be obtained graghically.read more
